Over the past 13 years, our Back2School Community outreach has been an opportunity to ensure students K-12 are equipped for the upcoming school year with bookbags, school supplies, haircuts, hairdos, gift cards, & shoes through Samaritan Feet initiative and all in a fun,festive, family atmosphere. Due to the pandemic of Covid-19, this year's Back2School outreach will be held as a Drive-Thru event on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 10am-12noon. Although this drive-thru event is much different than previous Back2School outreach events, we still have special surprises instore to make it an enjoyable, fun-filled experience. We are excited about the opportunity to provide help to over 400 families in our area with partnership of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, DUMC, & Lake Forest-Davidson.
It is our hope that you will join us in this effort. Here's how you can be a part:
- Help us spread the word and get as many students pre-registered at
- Donate SCHOOL SUPPLIES (wide or college-ruled paper, 1inch 3-ring binders, 1subject notebooks, pencils, erasers, composition books, highlighters, markers, crayons, glue sticks, 2 pocket folders, USB flash drives)
- Or if you don't want to venture into the stores, consider making a monetary donation toward purchase of supplies via cashapp ~ $gbclakenorman, Paypal ~ info@gbclakenorman.org, OR mail check to 565 Jetton Street, Davidson, NC made payable to Gethsemane Baptist Church. However you chose to donate, be sure to indicate B2SB in note or memo field.
- Since we are not able to socially distance with Samaritan Feet outreach, Donation of gift cards for parents to purchase shoes is greatly appreciated.
